The Taste of Mid-city kicked off April 15, 2011 at Bayou Beer Garden. This fun new annual event featured a sampling of the area’s top and new established restaurants. At $40 a head, we got to taste 7 different Mid-City establishments.Sign in was simple. Either showing proof of purchase with a printed e-mail confirmation or paying the $40 up front, we were broken up into groups of about 20 people. Every 15 minutes we moved to each location to sample everything from Roseblum wine from Clever Wine Lounge, Shrimp Carnival from Olive Branch Cafe to charbroiled oyster’s from Katie’s. It was definitely an evening filled with good drinks, good food and good company. Looking forward to it next year!
For those who missed out and wish to participate next year, we suggest wearing walking shoes or drinking lots of whatever with alcohol to ease the pain of walking about a mile and a half. http://www.atasteofmidcity.com/
